Mirages of Calabria

Exhibition Description

Mirages of Calabria emerges from an intimate gaze upon a land often loved without true commitment. Calabria appears as a suspended space, capable of offering altruism and consolation through the light of its sunsets and the openness of its landscapes.

The images portray a silent presence: young people crossing the shoreline, territories charged with memory, places that observe more than they are observed. In this setting, boredom is not absence but possibility—a space that few truly choose to inhabit.

Calabria is not responsible for the gaze that judges it. Before us, it has placed peoples, wonders, and open horizons. It is rather the emotional syntax of individuals that needs to be re-educated, gently held, and reconnected.

The project invites viewers to slow down, to linger, to look beyond the first layer of perception.

See you soon.
